Wonderful atmosphere with great outdoor seating. We were a large group and had no wait. Delicious margaritas. Ordered the tuna tacos and were very pleased. Service was great too.

This place is great and the location is perfect! They have a huge deck with plenty of tables and lounge areas with fire pits. The beach club is beautiful, it's right on the ocean, and they even have live music. This place deserves 10 stars just for the location! We only had drinks and appetizers, so I can't comment on the majority of the menu, but the oysters and hummus were delicious! They serve their oysters southern-style with a vinegar sauce. I've never had oysters like that before, and will be looking for it at other restaurants! I would give it five stars, but I was a little disappointed with our server and the soup my friend ordered wasn't very good. I asked the server a couple of questions about the sauces with the raw oysters I ordered, and instead of saying "I don't know" he made up an answer I knew was completely wrong. Thankfully a member of our group is a chef and was able to answer my question, but I didn't like that the server made up a response. The soup my friend ordered was described as a "tomato bisque," but it looked and tasted like a marinara sauce. It wasn't smooth and didn't contain any cream. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit!

The new clubhouse is stunning and the potential for this place is off the charts. Unfortunately the food just isn't good enough for the prices charged. I had the swordfish which came out overlooked and the portion was probably in the 5oz range. It was very bland. It came with broccoli and a rice dish. It was more like an entree at one of the chains like Applebee's or O'Charleys than a fine dining experience. My wife and daughter got the lobster roll which amounted to some cold lobster on a hot dog bun. The shoestring potatoes were pretty good but were similar to Steak and Shake and a lot more costly. I gave it one star because the service was good. I felt sorry for many of the servers because they were taking a lot of abuse because of the kitchen. The whole experience was puzzling with the number of great chefs coming out of nearby Savannah or Charleston. Sadly this could be a signature experience with better management and a creative chef. Right now it borders on being a tourist trap. Hope the powers that be are listening.

Three months in advance, we made reservations for 6 people for a 12:30pm Saturday lunch on the deck. We arrived and were told that the only 'table' available on the deck was a 'low table' i.e. coffee table. I was not about to balance my lunch plate on my lap or set it on the low table and keep reaching over to eat. The host told us that they do not accept reservations for the deck. Well, someone answering your phones accepted reservations for the deck a few months back. The host said it would be an hour if we wanted to wait for a regular table on the deck. We decided to eat indoors in a booth. About 15 minutes after we were sat, we saw that a large table was open on the deck and a part of 8 was being sat at it. Bummer. Onwards to the service and food. The service was very good. No complaints there. I was in the mood for a hamburger so I ordered that. It really was delicious. Shoestring fries were very good also. I can't remember what the others had but I believe everyone liked their food.

Celebrating our hometown and the last days of summer, I took my family to Coast, an extraordinarily lovely dining experience by the sea. We enjoyed beautiful acoustic music, delicious food, and lively conversation with our excellent servers (who were also brothers!) Alex & Will. Everything about dining alfresco with the sounds of the sea surrounding you, makes Coast a "must see" stop on your HHI vacation or "stay-cation!"

I agree with another reviewer that this place has amazing potential! They need to embrace their location and ambiance and make it truly spectacular! The place is gorgeous! However, the lackluster menu and specialty cocktails lacks imagination! This place is deserving of becoming "an experience!" My suggestions are add some unique pairings on the menu and with more taste. The food we tried was bland and boring. The drink menu lacked imagination, serving things like frozen margaritas. This is an upscale venue, try a prosecco concoction or infuse your own bloody Mary's. Own your ambiance. The service wasn't terrible, but nothing over the top either. The place wasn't too busy on Valentine's Day evening.... Which makes me think.... Word is out and be reviews aren't good.

Beautiful ambiance, the beach front location is amazing but on top of that the whole building is gorgeous. The food upstairs and down is good and offers many southern seafood options. We are local and this is one of our favorite places to eat, we never get bored with the menu options and the staff is very accommodating. Try the upstairs lounge, the small plates are delicious and you can't beat the view!

We've been coming to HHI for 15+ years , so when sea pines renovated the beach club we were excited. unfortunately Coast (the restaurant at the beach club) has horrible service. we went saturday and waited well over an hour for our dinners, three from our party had to leave, and then my daughters burger had a hair on it and the salads were wrong. management didn't really seem to care so we won't be going back.

The location is breath taking, but the food and service left something to be desired. For starters, we made a reservation in hopes of having a table outside or in the middle of the restaurant where the view is best. When we got there, we were seated in the back in a corner. I made the reservation mostly for the view, so that was disappointing. I also didn't know that I'd have to pay $6.00 to enter the Sea Pines Resort, so be prepared for that. The food was good, but the portions were small for the price. I had the Salmon and my boyfriend has the shrimp. They were tasty, but I felt that the menu was limited. I have some food allergies and the staff didn't seem very sure about what could be substituted. The waitress continually tried to sell us extras, like appetizers and dessert. I totally understand this is her job, I used to be a server, but she was visibly annoyed when we didn't order either. She dropped off our check, walked away without a word, and that was that. For the location, I would have given it 5 stars, but the service and food weren't worth the price!

Great location. Beach views, good food, good service. What's not to like? If your in Sea Pines it's a must.

I typically try to be nice when it comes to reviews, but this restaurant was a big letdown. Like other reviewers have stated, the location of ambiance is really nice but the food pretty much gives you an idea of what seafood would taste like if McDonald's started serving seafood. Actually, that is being nice. My wife and I came here for dinner with her parents around Christmas 2014 and it's safe to say that we will not be coming back. Way overpriced for the "quality" of the food. Service was really good though.

I only had appetizers and drinks and they were great. Large selection of drinks. It's pricey but expected. Food isn't anything special service is good and you can't beat the view.

You obviously go for the view, but the food is excellent. Crab stew and tuna tacos were the standouts. The service was impeccable!

Bad service and subpar food. The building is nice and the menus is varied, but it just doesn't live up to its price point.

Very dissapointing. The ambiance is absent and the wait staff is ill prepared to provide a memorable experience. The food is average -- I had the boullibaise and it was bland and I wasn't expecting Tilapia to be the main ingredient. The prices are very high relative to the quality and presentation of the food. I am a local and always looking for a great restaurant for guests and visitors - I would not recommend this based on the poor service and average food. The view is great however if you sit outside, however it is very noisy and lacks ambiance.

This place had such potential. The beach bar, the patio lounge, the entire complex was amazing. Friendly service, professionalism to a t... They even had a dress code bar. So as not to be one sided, they were doing us a favor by keeping the kitchen open for our additional orders... So much respect there. But, all that respect collapsed like a dress on prom night once we tasted our food. I was STARVING and still couldn't finish my flatbread pizza or blue crab cocktail. There were beef tip sliders that were inedible and chips with guacamole that wasn't good enough for your pampered pet!! This food was disgusting. Seriously it was an allllll time low. To their defense, cook must have been livid for being made to stay later, maybe he sabotaged the meal?? Not sure but be wary when coming here, stick to the drinks they were too expensive but at least delicious.

We typically don't go to Sea Pines because we don't care to pay $6 just to drive through the gate. But we really wanted to try Coast. Loved the way it looked when we arrived. We specifically wanted to sit outside where they don't take reservations, so we got there early enough that we didn't have to wait. First table they sat us at had a bunch flies flying around - the biting kind. So we moved to another table under a ceiling fan (one of only three fans), which appeared to be a little better. Ordered two cocktails and after waiting 15 min for them to arrive we canceled the cocktails and just ordered wine. Our server, Ryan, was awesome. but apparently the bar staff couldn't keep up with the orders. It wasn't even crowded at this point, so I'm not sure how they are going to handle the rest of Memorial Day weekend. When our entrees arrived my husband was given the wrong fish and wrong vegetable. But they corrected it so it was fine. My entree, the lobster rigatoni, was AWESOME. But what wasn't awesome was THE FLIES. They were everywhere. And I mean everywhere. Everyone around us was swatting the air to keep the biting flies away. It was RIDICULOUS. These flies are not new to Hilton Head and this restaurant has been open long enough that they should have a plan for dealing with the issue. They need bug zappers, more fans, etc. We finished our entrees but couldn't get out of there fast enough. I had on a maxi dress so the flies didn't attack my legs, but my husband was bitten umpteen times by these flies. When paying $25-30 for an entree we shouldn't have to be swatting biting flies the entire time. Our server had the manager come over to us as we were leaving, but the manager didn't really do much except say "when there are no waves in the ocean we get flies." Really? That's his explantation? Come up with A PLAN, Mr. Manager!! We will never go back to this place.

Great location with large outdoor deck extending from dining room. Upscale feel and look. Prices also reflect that. Good drink selection. Server did her best with amount of tables she had and was very friendly. With that said, it was pretty slow. Highlight was the island crab stew. Flavorful and nice amount of crab. Would get this every time. Unfortunately, my entree was a total bust. Listed on the special menu, the flat iron steak tips, with scalloped potatoes, was just barely on the edible side of rubber. Imagine low grade stew meat cubes. Served in a dish with a decent sauce, I did everything I could to dress it up, but it was a waste of dinner. The potatoes were dry and topped with bits of cheese(cheddar?), which was as cool as the potatoes. I guess I was hoping the cheese might melt a bit and provide some moisture. The rest of our party had the chicken carbonara, which they described as "decent." Too overpriced for this quality of food.
